Future of Covid-19 Cure-Medicine Drama Happening Right Now
コロナという人類共通の敵により50万人もの人が亡くなる状況を前にして、人類がかくも非生産的な内部抗争を繰り広げるとは、まったく想像もつかなかった。人類は一丸となってウイルスと闘うと信じていた。Facing global death toll of 500K by human-kind's common enemy Covid-19, I never imagined that such an unproductive internal battle can be extended among humans. I believed that human kind is smart enough to be united to fight against the virus.
しかし、私はあまりにもナイーブだった．．But I was too naive.
現在、ワクチンの開発が急がれている。ただ、開発には時間がかかり、またウイルスも変異するため、即時性と効果に問題はありそうだが。Currently people are rushing to develop vaccines. However, it takes time and virus transforms also, hence its readiness and efficacy are in question though.
一方、既存の薬の適用外処方も行われている。いくつもの効きそうな薬の中で、過去何十年も利用されてきたある既存薬の有効性は早期から浮上していた。感染初期から利用した場合、重症化をほぼ防止できるようだ。Meanwhile, many study off-label use of generic drugs. One drug has been identified as promising from very early stage with history of usage over decades. If taken from inception, looks it can prevent patients to get worse to go hospitalized.
ところが、その適用外処方薬の全面的な採用は、政治闘争と、また、新薬を売らないと儲からない勢力により組織的に妨げられてしまった。However the off-label use of the medicine was blocked by organized sabotage by those who live on selling drugs, as well as by the political confrontation.
現在、その薬を推進しようとする勢力と阻止しようとする勢力の間で熾烈な戦いが進行中だ。相対する片方が薬を奨励すると、もう片方は阻止する。利害関係者はその薬が効かないとネガティブキャンペーンをしているが、そのやり方は、医療とはかけ離れた、信じがたい、口にするのも恐ろしい、目を覆うものだ。Currently fierce battle is going on between promoters and blockers. All stakeholders(blockers) have been extending negative campaign saying the drug is useless, even dangerous however, their way of campaign has been far from medicare, unbelievable eyes covering insanity, frightening and even too scary to talk about it.
言語の障壁もあり、この現在グローバルに展開されている戦いから、日本人は隔絶されている。過去の薬害の記憶も関係しているだろう。また、日本では有望とされた適用外処方薬が同様な流れで脇にそれてしまったことは記憶に新しい。Japan has been disassociated with this globally extending battle probably due to language barrier, or due to past memory of phytotoxicity. Besides, it is quite recent that Japan-version of off-label use Covid-19 medicine was set aside in the same manner.
ただ暗い話ばかりではない。But there is always a hope.
現在、米国、フランス、ブラジル、中国で、効果ありとする論文が世界中で増え続けており、いかに世界機関、国家機関を通して押さえつけても、その影響力は間もなく臨界点を超えると思われる。Currently, in US, France, Brazil and China and elsewhere, we are seeing number of studies telling the efficacy of the medicine, hence irrespective of sabotages by international organization or national organizations, the collective influences will reach up to a critical mass very soon.
今後の予測として、早々に、適用外処方薬の有効性が広く世界に認識、合意形成されるところとなり、結果、死者は激減、コロナは普通の風邪レベルになるだろう。また、これらの適用外処方薬は概ねRNA合成阻害タイプのため、ウイルスの型が変異すると効かなくなるワクチンより優位性があると考えられる。The forecast from now. Sooner or later, the efficacy of the off-label use of the medicine is going to be well known consensus world-wide, as a result, death toll will go down drastic, and Covid-19 will be like normal flue after all. Also, most of off-label use of medicines are RNA synthesis inhibitor in nature, they have advantage over vaccine that will lose efficacy in general as virus keeps mutating.
このため、経済活動はすべて再開となり、また、第二波も心配することなく、経済ダメージも最小となるだろう。As a result, all economic activities will be resumed back to normal and also will be no worry for the 2nd wave together with the minimization of economic damage.
この悲惨な物語は、未来永劫に語り継がれることになるだろう。そして、人類にとって、その締めくくりは、医療に関するグローバルな制度改革であるべきだ。This sad story will be handed down generations forever. And conclusion of it should be the global reform of medicare system.
