Points to Consider When Replacing a Washlet
TOTOのウオッシュレットTCF317を購入９年目にして、TOSHIBAのSCS-T161に交換。After using the TOTO Washlet TCF317 for nine years, it was replaced with the TOSHIBA SCS-T161.
TOTOのウオッシュレット修理については以前書いたが、最近故障が頻繁になり修理が限界を迎えた。Regarding the repair of the TOTO Washlet that I mentioned earlier, recently, the malfunctions became frequent and reached the limit of repair.
具体的には、可動洗浄ノズルの付け根にある、ソレノイドへの複数のリード線が樹脂固定されているのだが、断線が樹脂の中にまで進行してしまい、これ以上は更に大分解しないといけなくなってしまったから。Specifically, multiple lead wires to the solenoid at the base of the movable cleaning nozzle are resin-fixed. However, the disconnection progressed into the resin, necessitating further extensive disassembly.
マニュアルを見ずにYouTubeで動画を見てから始めた。交換で給水管の組み直しで頭の体操が必要だった。元栓についている水洗トイレとウオッシュレットへの分岐の径がTOTOとTOSHIBAで異なっている。I began the replacement after watching videos on YouTube without referring to the manual. Reconnecting the water supply hose during the replacement required some mental gymnastics. The diameters of the branching from the main valve to the water closet and Washlet were different between TOTO and TOSHIBA.
当初、付属の分岐を単なる径の変換として使おうとして、部品を買い走らなければと思ったが、思いとどまりもう一度考えた。Initially, I intended to use the supplied branch as a mere diameter conversion, thinking I'd have to rush to buy parts, but I reconsidered.
ようやく、既存の分岐を根元から入れ替えれば良いことに気づき、すっきり交換できた。しかし、今度は水が出ない！しぶしぶマニュアルを見ると、通電後洗浄ボタンを押すと初期化されるとあり、無事開通！Finally, I realized that I could simply replace the existing branch from the base, and the replacement proceeded smoothly. However, this time, no water came out! Reluctantly consulting the manual, it mentioned that pressing the cleaning button after power-up initiates a reset, and it successfully started flowing!
めでたしめでたし。All's well that ends well.
