知床５湖に入るには、ヒグマに遭遇した場合の対応法についてのレクチャーを受けて、立入認定証をもらう必要がある。クマは頻繁に出没し、当日も一時通行止めになったそうだ。声を出しながら注意して進む必要があり、正直、景色を楽しむよりクマに気を付ける方が優先してしまった。かなり前に来た時には草むらの中を分け入って歩く感じであったが、遊歩道は以前と比べるとかなり整備されていた。To enter Shiretoko Five Lakes, you need to attend a lecture on how to respond if you encounter a brown bear and receive a permit for entry. Bears frequently appear in the area, and on the day of our visit, the path was temporarily closed due to a bear sighting. You must proceed with caution, making noise as you go. Honestly, I found myself more focused on watching out for bears than enjoying the scenery. When I visited a long time ago, it felt like we were walking through the brush, but the trails are now much more developed compared to before.
