「経済活動再開」か「検疫継続」か。米国の究極の選択
Ultimate US Decision. Resumption of Economic Activities or Continuation of Quarantine.
今、米国で言われている究極の選択は、つぎの２つだ。Current ultimate choices discussed in the US are followings.
１）検疫をウイルスがなくなるまで続け、経済活動はその間休止する。Keep quarantine until Virus vanishes while stop economic activities.
- 利点：死者は最低限で済む Advantage : Can keep death toll minimum
- 欠点：企業倒産、失業者が増え、経済的なダメージが限界を超える。Disadvantage : Bankruptcy, unemployment increases testing the limit of economic damage.
- 利点：企業倒産、失業者を最低限に抑えられる。Advantage : Can minimize bankruptcy and unemployment.
- 欠点：コロナによる死者は国民全員が感染するまで増え続ける。Disadvantage : Corona death toll will keep increasing until whole population get infected.
なぜ、このような選択が出てきてたのだろうか？三つの理由がある。Here are three reasons why such discussion came out.
１）200兆円の政府支援はGDP2000兆円の10%なので、１カ月を超える場合、追加支援が必要になる。Government financial assistance of JPY200tr equivalent is 10% of GDP JPY2000tr equivalent, hence will need extra amount if shut down exceeds more than one month.
２）新規感染者が頭打ちになってきており、これから終息に向かうと予想される。Daily number of new patients is not increasing in NY now, hence can reasonably estimate that US Corona has just hit peak and will diminish toward end of month.
３）１１月の大統領選に向け、トランプは人的被害と経済的被害のバランスを取りたい。Facing Nov President Election, Trump wishes to balance between death toll and economic damage.
現状のままでの再開は、第２波の感染爆発と死者の増加を誘発しかねない。If US opens up country as of now, it is highly likely that will invite 2nd wave of infection explosion and increase of death toll.
アビガンなど、何らかの症状緩和薬により、コロナが通常のインフルエンザ並みの症状で収まるようになれば経済再開の道筋もできるだろう。If Corona symptom can be mitigated to the level of normal influenza by the use of cure medicine such as Avigan, resumption of economic activities can be more realistic.
